General Validation Application

The general validation capability is one of the more powerful features of the ICAM system. This feature allows a cardholder to be compared against a user-defined set of database parameters to check to see that they meet eligibility parameters for an activity.

As an example, a reader can be used to check entrance to a recreation facility at a university. The reader can be configured to check that a cardholder is either enrolled full time, has paid their recreation fee, or that they are a faculty member. In this case the activity parameter can be set to

stu_status_1 = F or stu_fee_paid_1 = T or emp_status_1 = F.

Readers commonly used with the general validation application are:

Diebold 727 and Diebold Turbo Card Readers.
The Diebold Access series of access control readers.
The Comtrex Sprint series of POS terminals.
